Dear brother . .what is mentioned above is not entirly right .. as the word soma in greek may mean a dead body and to be sure of my words see

Mat 14:12 فَتَقَدَّمَ تَلاَمِيذُهُ وَرَفَعُوا الْجَسَدَ وَدَفَنُوهُ. ثُمَّ أَتَوْا وَأَخْبَرُوا يَسُوعَ.
Mat 14:12 And his disciples came, and took up the body, and buried it, and went and told Jesus.

and the Greek word used here is also soma ... and it's for a dead body ..

Mat 14:12 και προσελθοντες οι μαθηται αυτου ηραν το σωμα και εθαψαν αυτο και ελθοντες απηγγειλαν τω ιησου

is not true my brother that soma can mean a body because Father Ed's Homily says “The Greeks had two words for "body ": soma and ptoma. Soma refers to a living person, a body animated by a soul. Ptoma on the other hand, refers to a dead person, a corpse. What is interesting is that Luke uses "soma" when he speaks of "the body" of Jesus. He is not referring to a corpse, but to a living person! Even when Joseph of Arimathea took "the body" of Jesus down from the cross, and when the women saw where Jesus’ "body" was laid, the word Luke uses is "soma" meaning the living person of Jesus."

Also Translatum.gr Greek Dictionary says “dead body (is) πτώμα, σορός, κουφάρι.” However, the Greek word “σώμα”, which means a living body, is not used for a dead body.
Also Apocalyptic Hope says “"Carcase" ("ptoma") is a negative word implying an empty casing. “Body"("soma") is a positive term implying a living organism."

Mentioning that Matthew 14:12 uses SOMA to desribe the dead body of John the Baptist was replaced by the PTOMA by Tischendorf 8th Edition who was the discovererAlexendrian Manuscript. Please refer to http://bible.cc/matthew/14-12.htm

Please note that the word "Ptoma" was not used to desribe the body of Jesus.

even if we go by the vaticanus manuscript that the body of Jesus was PTOMA in Mark 15:45, we will find that Jesus was SOMA when was liad in the tomb. This means that Jesus looked dead when was on the cross, but Jesus was still soma in Luke 23:55 after was healed by the spices in John 19:39
