First, I would like to talk with you about "SIN". Then, I will start with
a question:
1) What is SIN according to the Bible?
Jesus said:
----------------
"What goes into your mouth does not defile you, but what comes out of your mouth,
that is what defiles you... ...For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder,
adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander. (Mathew 15:11,19)"
------------------
Ameera, we must understand that the SIN is inside the man, in his heart, and when
the man commit a sin, it happened because the desire already was in his heart.
The sin IS NOT only something that you did wrong, but if you only have desire to do
something wrong, then, in your heart, you already committed sin.
Look what Jesus said about it:
--------------------------
27 "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall not commit adultery. But I tell you
that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her
in his heart. (Mathew 5:27-28)
-------------------------
Ameera, when the man commit sin, he does it naturally, by nature, because his heart
is wrong, and it is because this that the man is always thinking and wishing the
sin.
----------------------------------------------
"I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I
have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out." (romans 7:18)
--------------------------
Ameera, the problem is: we use to think that we commit a sin only when we do a wrong
act, we use to think that we are without sin until we practice a wrong act, then we
ask for forgiveness to God, and after it we think that we are without sin again.
Then, Ameera, you can never commited adultery, but if you look at a man lustfully,
you commited sin in your heart. You can never commit murder, but if you have anger
about anyone person, you commited sin anyway. You can never commited steal, but if
you feel jealousy, then you are a sinner anyway.
Then, Ameera, we can see that the man never can remove his own sin, whatever what
the man do, whatever how the man behave, for more good that a man live, for more
correctly that a man try to live, he can not make himself free. Because the sin is
in the heart of man, no just in his acts. The wrong acts of the man is just a
consequence of his sin heart.
Do you understand it?
Because, if you do not recognize it in yourself, then you will not can understand
how God save us, because the God said:
-----------------------------------------
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus
our Lord." Romans 6:23
------------------------
The God's law said that the one who sins is the one who will die because the salary
of sin is death, then, if we are sinners, we are condemned to die. But, if God just
forgive us, He invalidate His law's justice, and if God do not abey His own law,
then God leave to be righteousness, and if God is not more righteousness, then God
is not God anymore, because God is perfect in all aspects, then God can not bread
His own law.
But, certainly that God do not want that we die. Because God love us very much. God
is love, but God is not just love, He is also justice, and because God is also
justice, He needed to do something for save us beyong forgive us.
God needed to send His unigenito son Jesus Christ to the Earth, for He comply the
God's law instead us.
----------------------------
Jesus said: "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I
have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them." Mathew 5:17
------------------------------
But, Jesus Christ do not only complied the God's law instead us, He also suffered
the punishment of the God's law in our place, instead us. Jesus Chist died, why He
died? He died because God cumplied His law in Jesus instead us. Jesus HAD NO SIN,
but He receive our sins, for make us free of condemnation of God's law. And this was
the way that God could save us, God forgive us and save us, certainly, but He do it
in Christ.
And it is because this that God said:
-------------------------------------
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes
in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into
the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever
believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned
already because they have not believed in the name of God's one and only Son." John
3:16-18
and also:
"Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not
see life, for God's wrath remains on them. " john 3:36"
And it this way that we can be save, just this way.
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from
yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast."
Ephasians 2:8-9
---------------------------------
"Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so
that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God. 20
Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God's sight by observing the law;
rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin." romans 3:19-20
For we maintain that a person is justified by faith apart from observing the law."
romans 3:28
Romans 4:1-8
"1 What then shall we say that Abraham, the forefather of us Jews, discovered in
this matter? 2 If, in fact, Abraham was justified by works, he had something to
boast about—but not before God. 3 What does Scripture say? "Abraham believed God,
and it was credited to him as righteousness." [a]
4 Now to anyone who works, their wages are not credited to them as a gift, but
as an obligation. 5 However, to anyone who does not work but trusts God who
justifies the ungodly, their faith is credited as righteousness. 6 David says the
same thing when he speaks of the blessedness of those to whom God credits
righteousness apart from works:
7 "Blessed are those
whose transgressions are forgiven,
whose sins are covered.
8 Blessed are those
whose sin the Lord will never count against them." [b] "
